It is hard to believe we met Hannah nine months ago. She has grown so much! She has outgrown her car seat and is impatient with baby-food now. She would much rather pick up her food and feed herself than have help eating. Of course she still enjoys a good bottle every now and then. She really likes the sippy cup with a straw though so she can drink water and juice without help too. Hannah is really beginning to assert her independence, though she's still really attached to her parents. She can now crawl in protest when one of us leaves the room, and loudly declare her disapproval at our feet. Pulling to stand and actually picking up her feet while holding fingers are her latest improvements in mobility as well. She'll babble all day long, but no real meaning yet, though sometimes her "dada's" and "mom" come at appropriate times. Hannah really loves her Daddy and will get pretty indignant if he does not greet her within seconds of arriving home from work. She'll stop anything, from bottle-drinking, to snacking, to playing with Nathanael's cars, to do a happy little dance to welcome Daddy home. Also, sometimes she'll protest his leaving the room even with Mom right behind her.
We all took a family day to a water park last weekend and had a blast. Hannah wasn't too crazy about much of it. But, as usual, fun Daddy got her into the mood. The wave pool proved to be a favorite after Forest took her from Laura and got her used to the water. Nathanael couldn't have been more excited. He loves "splash parks" and enjoyed each water feature he was tall enough to enjoy. If you ask him, his favorite thing was the "big green slide with the yellow ones that came up for us and we slid down and splashed in the water"--a big green water slide that you ride down on a yellow raft. He got to ride with Dad once and Mom one time. Both times he immediately wanted to get back in line to ride again.
