Hannah had her first well-baby appointment this week. After a rough beginning she is doing very well. She was 7lbs 4oz at birth and at one month she is 9lbs 7oz! Her doctor doesn't see any lingering problems with her lungs either. God has truly been good to us and continues to bless our family. She has started to be awake more during the day, and sleeping for longer intervals during the night. It is fun to watch her take in her surroundings too. Hannah gets mesmerized by our afghan just like Nathanael did, and she has even reached out a few times to feel it with her little hands. She hasn't played with any of her Christmas presents yet, but that will come soon enough.

"She's so cute!"
Nathanael really enjoys his sister. He gets so excited when Hannah is awake and loves to try to give her kisses. He'll often look over at her and exclaim, "She's so cute!" or "She's looking at you" (meaning she's looking at him), he also says "Hannah not at the hospital anymore, she's all better" since we had told him Hannah was in the hospital getting medicine. He is such a sensitive big brother--he gets concerned whenever she is "upset" or crying. One afternoon he was on the bed when she was getting a new diaper (which she absolutely hates) and he came over to her head and gave her hugs and kept repeating "it'll be ok" to her to help calm her down. He even likes to try to rock her bouncer when she starts to fuss. Even though Hannah is too small to play with toys or eat fun stuff, Nathanael is already trying to share with her.

Getting our Christmas Tree
So, the Florida boy has always wanted to cut his own Christmas tree, and so has his mom. Well, now is the time to get ours since things have started to settle down in our house after bringing Hannah home. So we took Forest's mom with us last night and Forest got to cut down his very own Christmas tree. It was so very cold! We made sure to bundle up pretty well, but fingers and toes never do seem to stay as warm as hoped. We even got Hannah extra warm and Laura carried her in a sling inside her coat--so she looked kind of like she was still pregnant. Next year, maybe Hannah will make it into the photos better, and we'll go earlier in the day when it is a tiny bit warmer.
